Fire Extinguisher & Kitchen Hood Inspector (Licensed)
Position Summary
We are hiring a licensed Fire Extinguisher & Kitchen Hood Inspector with hands-on experience in commercial kitchen fire suppression systems. This role focuses on inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire extinguishers and leading hood system brands, ensuring full compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, testing, recharging, and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers per NFPA 10.
- Inspect and service commercial kitchen hood suppression systems per NFPA 17A.
- Work on and troubleshoot major wet chemical systems including:
- Ansul systems
- CaptiveAire systems
- Pyro-Chem systems
- Inspect system components including tanks, nozzles, detection lines, fusible links, gas shutoffs, pull stations, and control heads.
- Identify deficiencies and provide clear repair recommendations.
- Complete accurate inspection reports, deficiency notes, and compliance documentation.
- Tag and label systems after service in accordance with regulations.
- Coordinate with service/repair teams for follow-up work.
- Maintain tools, inventory, and company vehicle.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Fire Extinguisher License (State/Local required).
- Proven experience inspecting and servicing kitchen hood fire suppression systems.
- Working knowledge of NFPA 10 and NFPA 17A standards.
- Experience with Ansul, CaptiveAire, and/or Pyro-Chem systems required.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced field environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturer certifications (Ansul, Pyro-Chem, etc.).
- Experience with system installation and repairs.
- Familiarity with inspection software/reporting tools.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Work on ladders, rooftops, and in tight kitchen spaces.
- Ability to perform physical work for extended periods.

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
