CMNTY Sports is a youth-focused after-school program designed to help children build Confidence, Compassion, and Communication through sports, enrichment, mentorship, and positive experiences.
We are looking for an energetic, dependable, and caring After-School Program Assistant to join our team and help create a safe, structured, and engaging environment for children from Pre-K through 8th grade.
Duties
- Supervise students throughout the after-school program and maintain a safe environment.
- Assist with student check-in, snack time, homework, enrichment, and recreational activities.
- Lead and participate in age-appropriate sports, games, arts and crafts, and group activities.
- Support CMNTY Sports programming, including basketball, boxing, track, movement activities, and other youth sports.
- Encourage positive behavior through clear expectations, communication, and positive reinforcement.
- Help students resolve conflicts appropriately and respectfully.
- Assist students with homework and educational activities when needed.
- Support students of different ages, abilities, and learning needs.
- Help maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming program space.
- Follow all CMNTY Sports safety, supervision, and child-protection procedures.
- Communicate professionally with students, families, and fellow staff members.
- Work as part of a team and assist with daily program responsibilities as assigned.
- Be an active, positive role model for students.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred
- Demonstrated skills in classroom management and behavior management techniques
- Knowledge of first aid procedures, CPR certification, AED operation, and first aid protocols required or obtainable upon hire
- Experience facilitating youth group activities or teaching young children in diverse settings is advantageous
- Background in childhood development or special education enhances your ability to support varied needs effectively
- Proven ability to lead team efforts in outdoor work environments or recreational settings
- Previous babysitting, theater experience, or Christian counseling roles can provide valuable skills for engaging with children creatively and compassionately
