Austin Industrial, Inc. is currently seeking a Loader to be based in Bishop, TX. This position is responsible for safely loading, unloading, and moving bulk liquid of tank trucks, railcars, iso tanks within an industrial facility while supporting daily operations. The Loader will work closely with operations and shipping teams to ensure materials are handled efficiently, safely, and in compliance with site requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all work safely in accordance with plant safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Assist with loading and unloading bulk chemical products from tank trucks, railcars, containers, and storage tanks.
- Verify product information, shipping paperwork, and load requirements before transfer activities.
- Operate loading equipment, pumps, valves, hoses, and transfer systems after completing required training.
- Monitor loading and unloading activities and notify supervisors of any issues or abnormal conditions.
- Perform pre-use inspections of loading equipment, hoses, connections, and work areas.
- Maintain accurate records and complete basic shipping and operational documentation.
- Assist with inventory tracking and product movement throughout the facility.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Report equipment problems, leaks, spills, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately.
- Follow all applicable environmental, health, safety, and transportation regulations.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, maintenance personnel, and transportation drivers.
- Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement activities.
- Perform general labor duties and other tasks assigned.
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work safely in an industrial environment.
- Willingness to learn chemical loading operations and plant procedures.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic math and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attendance, teamwork, and communication skills.
Preferred
- Previous experience in manufacturing, warehousing, shipping, construction, agriculture, or industrial environments.
- Forklift or material handling equipment experience.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and recordkeeping.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work at elevated heights.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves, and other protective equipment as required.
