Job Overview:
The Applications Engineer is responsible for the support of the sales, marketing, and manufacturing of Single Layer Capacitors (SLC) products at our Cazenovia, NY manufacturing facility. The position acts as technical liaison to customers and will heavily interact with internal production personnel as well as external vendors.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Field customer technical questions.
- Perform cost analysis for single layer capacitors in conjunction with PLM and Finance.
- Interact with customers to define custom part requirements and evaluate feasibility.
- Work with engineering team to define testing and evaluation where required.
- Perform lab experiments to verify and improve capabilities in coordination with the engineering team.
- Work with operations team to gain an in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and capabilities.
- Work with the Quality department to address quality issues.
- Work with Product Manager and Marketing to design and develop new products.
- Coordinate with Sales to fully understand customer applications and technical requirements.
- Participate in the ECN and PCN processes.
- Maintain product catalog, datasheet, and website technical content.
- Write and/or assist in writing technical articles and application notes.
- Travel and training in support of customers may be required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- BS degree preferably electrical engineering discipline with focus in RF/Microwave.
- 2+ years' work experience in a technical role with customer interaction.
- Experience preferred with Capacitor products/applications.
- Self-directed, highly professional and collaborative.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and propensity for accuracy of work product.
- Accountability to the timelines of task completion.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities within a fast-paced workplace.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
