Embrace the challenge and impact of being the sole owner of an entire market sector. You’ll be responsible for building a $9 million book of business in the medical market. You’ll report directly to our Director of Sales, enabling you to be agile and remove bureaucracy to do what’s best for your customers.
What success looks like in the first year
Within the first 12 months, the person in this role must...
- Take over existing life sciences accounts.
- Close existing business opportunities.
- Develop a growth strategy. Identify accounts with opportunity for expansion, new accounts to target, and a strategy for penetration.
- Identify key decision-makers at key existing and target accounts.
- Demonstrate exemplary discovery skills and documentation to enable tailored solution development. Exemplary discovery includes a clear understanding of the customer’s problem, its impact, and possible solutions.
- Develop a healthy pipeline.
- Understand Extol’s technologies and be able to explain how they work, their benefits, and their value to customers.
- Demonstrate Extol’s core values and establish positive working relationships with the Extol team and manufacturers’ reps.
- Practice CRM hygiene: keep information accurate, up to date, and comply with forecasting requirements.
The ideal candidate
- You must have experience calling on the corporate marketplace, talking to management-level stakeholders.
- You must have experience facing competition.
- You must hunt for new business to effectively close deals with an average size of $200,000 - $2,000,000.
- You must be comfortable sustaining a long sales cycle, often 6 months or more.
- You must have experience giving dynamic presentations to groups as large as 25 people.
- You must have experience selling high-end products and custom, complex solutions.

Compensation and benefits
We are looking for individuals who are already earning at least $100,000 in a variable compensation plan.
Base Salary: $120,000 - $140,000 (depending on experience)
Commission: $40,000
Profit Sharing Potential: $5,000
