Job Summary
The Tower Foreman will supervise and lead tower technicians, subcontractors, and construction progress, as well as perform construction duties alongside crew at telecommunication sites. A Tower Foreman must have an expert level understanding of the Telecommunications Industry. You will be responsible for start and completion of projects on job sites with your crew. You must be able to perform hazard recognition and fill out safety documents daily. You must lead by example and follow strict safety protocols and all OSHA and ANSI regulations. You will be responsible for the compilation of data and pictures to complete close out documentation in a timely manner. The Tower Foreman must be detail oriented and must be able to follow instructions. As a Foreman you must be able to read the project plans and have the ability to build a BOM based strictly on those plans and be able to recognize any potential issues that may arise. The Foreman will be responsible for correctly sweeping and PIM testing all coax lines and fiber per the client's specifications.
Duties
- Lead and direct crew of 2-3
- Supervise, train, motivate and hold team members accountable.
- Follow all safety procedures and OSHA, ANSI, NATE regulations
- Ensure all crew members are compliant with company and customer safety requirements
- Recognize all safety hazards and fill out documentation
- Lead tailgate talks daily
- Evaluate all equipment before use
- Tower Climbing
- Read and understand project plans, SOW, CD’S and RFDS
- Identify all materials and other resources needed to complete the project
- Ensure tasks assigned to the crew are completed with quality and in a timely manner
- Complete projects by Leaderships and customers timelines
- PIM or Sweep test antenna/line systems
- Control job budget and spending
- Areas of work include reading plans & blueprints, conduit installation, pulling wire,assembly, layout, equipment mounting/installation, tower climbing,testing/troubleshooting, installing, replacing, and repairing antenna systems equipmentand perform tower maintenance and other duties as assigned
- Ability to solve and troubleshoot connectivity issues
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of industry experience
- Demonstrate expertise in construction skills, rigging, safety and general industry knowledge
- Working knowledge of safety standards and regulations
- NWSA certification is a plus
- Job related certifications: First Aid/CPR, Climb Safety and Rescue, NWSA, RF Awareness, OSHA 30hr, Fiber, PIM, Rigging, Aerial lift and forklift
- Must be organized and detail oriented
- Must be able to read and interpret site plans, RFDS, CDs and SOW
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Ability to lead, teach and train proper work and safety procedures
- Recognize all job hazards and perform duties in a safe manner
- Must be fit and in good physical condition
- Must be able to pass a DOT Physical
- Must have the ability to climb towers and be able to pick up and carry 50+ lbs
- Must be able to work OT, days, nights, and or weekends
- CDL preferred
