Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Directional Driller and play a vital role in the successful execution of underground drilling projects. As a key member of the construction and utility installation crew, you will operate specialized equipment to precisely steer and control horizontal and directional drilling operations. Your expertise will ensure efficient, safe, and accurate installation of pipelines, cables, and conduits beneath obstacles like roads, rivers, and existing infrastructure. Duties
- Operate directional drilling equipment with precision to guide underground installations according to project specifications.
- Monitor drilling parameters continuously, adjusting equipment settings to maintain accuracy and safety.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on heavy machinery including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and paving equipment.
- Assist with the setup of construction sites by managing heavy equipment such as Caterpillar machinery and other construction vehicles.
- Collaborate with project managers and survey teams to interpret plans and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Maintain detailed logs of drilling activities, equipment usage, and safety checks for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Follow all safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, paving machines, or similar machinery.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on drilling and construction equipment.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with clean driving record; experience with excavator operation is highly preferred.
- Construction site experience with familiarity in horizontal directional drilling techniques.
- Ability to read technical plans and interpret survey data accurately.
- Strong understanding of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and construction environments.
- Physical stamina to work outdoors in varying weather conditions; capable of lifting heavy materials when necessary.
