Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare professionals
- Administer medications following HIPAA guidelines and care plans while maintaining accurate documentation
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring proper food safety standards
- Support residents during outings or community activities to promote social engagement and independence
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols
- Document daily care activities, incident reports, and progress notes thoroughly to ensure continuity of care
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring is essential
- Experience with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, autism support or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is advantageous
- Familiarity with care plans, HIPAA compliance, and patient monitoring tools is required
- Hands-on experience with lifting equipment such as Hoyer lifts or working with heavy lifting is beneficial
- Strong background in caregiving roles involving long-term care, hospice or senior care enhances your ability to excel in this position
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred; ongoing training opportunities are available for professional growth
