Nxt Gen Analysis is seeking a detail-oriented and technically capable Laboratory Technician to join our analytical laboratory team. The Laboratory Technician will support routine laboratory operations by receiving and preparing samples, performing analytical testing, operating laboratory instrumentation, documenting results, and maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in chemistry, biology, or a related scientific discipline and is comfortable working with laboratory instrumentation and following established procedures. This role requires a high level of accuracy, organization, attention to detail, and commitment to Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
The Laboratory Technician will work closely with laboratory leadership and other scientific personnel to ensure testing is performed accurately, efficiently, safely, and in accordance with approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Key Responsibilities:
Sample Management & Laboratory Operations
· Receive, identify, label, and handle laboratory samples in accordance with approved procedures.
· Verify sample information, labeling, quantities, and documentation prior to testing.
· Maintain appropriate sample integrity, storage, and chain-of-custody practices as required.
· Prepare samples for routine analytical testing according to approved methods and SOPs.
· Maintain an organized laboratory and ensure work areas, equipment, and materials are properly maintained.
· Follow established laboratory safety procedures and applicable environmental, health, and safety requirements.
Analytical Testing & Instrumentation
· Perform routine analytical testing using laboratory instrumentation and equipment, including:
o pH meters
o LCMS
o Karl Fischer titrators
o Osmometers
o Endosafe systems
o Other laboratory instrumentation as assigned
· Demonstrate functional knowledge of the operation, basic troubleshooting, and analysis associated with LCMS, Karl Fischer, Osmometer, and Endosafe instrumentation.
· Operate laboratory instruments in accordance with approved SOPs, test methods, and manufacturer instructions.
· Perform instrument checks, calibration activities, and routine maintenance as required by applicable procedures.
· Identify unusual results, instrument issues, or testing discrepancies and promptly communicate concerns to laboratory leadership.
· Assist with troubleshooting analytical testing issues and escalate problems when appropriate.
· Perform calculations accurately and verify results prior to documentation or submission for review.
Reagent, Standard & Solution Preparation
· Prepare reagents, reference standards, solutions, buffers, and other laboratory materials as required.
· Accurately perform weighing, dilution, concentration, and other laboratory calculations.
· Properly label prepared solutions, reagents, and standards with required information, including preparation date, expiration/retest date, concentration, and preparer, as applicable.
· Ensure reagents and standards are stored under appropriate conditions.
· Monitor expiration dates and notify laboratory leadership of materials approaching expiration or requiring replacement.
Documentation & Data Integrity
· Accurately record raw data, observations, calculations, instrument information, and test results in accordance with approved procedures.
· Maintain complete, accurate, legible, and contemporaneous laboratory records in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and applicable data integrity requirements.
· Complete laboratory documentation accurately and within established timelines.
· Review data and documentation for completeness and accuracy before submitting for review.
· Correct documentation errors in accordance with approved GDP procedures; never obscure or improperly alter original data.
· Maintain appropriate electronic and paper laboratory records.
· Report deviations, errors, atypical observations, or potential data integrity concerns promptly to laboratory management.
Laboratory Inventory & Materials Management
· Assist with reagent, reference standard, consumable, and laboratory inventory management.
· Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to laboratory leadership.
· Receive and properly store laboratory supplies and materials.
· Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure materials are appropriately labeled and stored.
· Assist with periodic inventory reconciliation and expiration-date checks.
· Support laboratory organization and efficient use of supplies and resources.
Quality, Compliance & Safety
· Follow all applicable SOPs, analytical methods, laboratory policies, and quality requirements.
· Participate in laboratory training and maintain required training documentation.
· Maintain familiarity with applicable Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and data integrity principles.
· Support investigations, deviations, corrective actions, and other quality activities as assigned.
· Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant laboratory environment.
· Immediately report safety concerns, equipment problems, testing discrepancies, or procedural deviations to appropriate laboratory personnel.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve laboratory efficiency, quality, safety, and reliability.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or another related scientific discipline; Chemistry or Biology preferred.
· Strong mathematical skills with the ability to perform laboratory calculations accurately.
· Strong computer skills and the ability to learn and effectively use laboratory software, electronic systems, and data-management tools.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Demonstrated experience operating basic laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
· Functional knowledge and hands-on experience with LCMS, Karl Fischer, Osmometer, and Endosafe operation and analysis.
· Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
· Ability to follow written procedures and SOPs consistently and accurately.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and documentation quality.
· Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a laboratory team.
Preferred Qualifications
· Previous experience in an analytical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, manufacturing, quality control, or regulated laboratory environment.
· Experience working in a GMP, GLP, or other regulated laboratory environment.
· Experience with analytical testing of pharmaceutical, biological, chemical, or related products.
· Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or other electronic laboratory systems.
· Experience with analytical method execution, data review, and basic troubleshooting.
· Familiarity with laboratory equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and qualification requirements.
· Understanding of data integrity principles and ALCOA+ concepts.
· Experience working with controlled documentation and formal quality systems.

Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
· Stand and walk for extended periods while performing laboratory activities.
· Sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
· Safely handle laboratory samples, reagents, chemicals, and equipment.
· Perform repetitive laboratory tasks, including pipetting, weighing, labeling, and sample preparation.
· Lift and move laboratory materials and supplies as required, within reasonable limits.
· Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including laboratory coats, gloves, eye protection, and other PPE as applicable.
Work Environment
The Laboratory Technician works primarily in a laboratory environment and may be exposed to chemicals, laboratory samples, equipment, and other materials associated with analytical testing. The employee is expected to follow all laboratory safety procedures and use required PPE at all times.
The role may require occasional schedule flexibility based on laboratory testing requirements, sample volumes, equipment availability, or business needs.
