Job Summary
The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of various floor surfaces in commercial and institutional settings. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who is skilled in floor care techniques and has a strong commitment to providing high-quality custodial services. The Floor Technician will ensure that all areas are clean, safe, and presentable for staff and visitors.
Duties
- Perform routine floor care tasks including buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing various types of flooring.
- Conduct carpet cleaning using appropriate equipment and techniques to maintain cleanliness and extend the life of carpets.
- Ensure all custodial duties are completed efficiently, including dusting, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting any needs to management.
- Adhere to safety standards and environmental services protocols while performing cleaning tasks.
- Respond promptly to any urgent cleaning requests or emergencies as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services preferred.
- Familiarity with floor care techniques such as buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing various types of flooring and carpet cleaning. (EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED)
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Ability to operate various cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- Knowledge of environmental services practices is a plus.
