Reports To: Building Principal
Salary: According to Master Contract with the Jefferson Education Association
Job Goal: The social workers will help students resolve personal, emotional, and social problems which interfere with their
adjustment to school and their capacity to achieve the maximum reward of a public education.
Qualifications:
Valid Michigan teacher’s certificate with endorsement in Spanish (FF) for grades 9-12 required
Role:
- Depending on the grade level, the Spanish Language Teacher educates pupils anywhere from basic foreign
language skills to mastering the language
- Teach district approved curriculum
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for all
lessons, units and projects
- Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interest and abilities of the students
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity level and interests
of the students
- Controls assigned district-owned equipment and supplies to prevent loss or abuse
- Assist the administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct
- For the classroom, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintain order in the
classroom in a fair and just manner
- Evaluate pupils’ growth, keep appropriate records and prepare progress reports
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations
- Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day
