Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Dance Instructor and Choreographer for Ballet and Pointe to inspire students ages 8-17 through the art of dance. Your enthusiasm for dance and dedication to student growth will foster a positive environment where creativity flourishes. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the next generation of dancers while honing your teaching and artistic skills. Schedule would being in September 2026 and end in June 2027.
Duties
- Develop comprehensive dance curricula tailored to different skill levels, from beginner to advanced.
- Teach engaging dance classes to children & teens, ensuring each student receives personalized attention and encouragement
- Create innovative choreography for performances/recitals that showcase students’ talents and progress
- Manage classroom environments effectively by implementing behavior management strategies and maintaining a positive, inclusive atmosphere
- Plan lessons that integrate elements of a dancer's development.
- Support students’ progress through feedback, and performance coaching to build confidence and technical skills
- Incorporate multimedia tools such as photography or video recordings to document and enhance lesson plans
Experience
- Proven experience in teaching ballet and pointe with classroom management expertise
- Strong background in curriculum development and lesson planning tailored for diverse age groups
- Familiarity with theatrical productions or performance arts enhances your ability to choreograph compelling routines
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom experience ensures effective instruction across age ranges
