We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Dance Teacher to join our vibrant arts education team for the upcoming fall semester and to assist with last-minute camp help! Responsibilities
- Lead engaging dance classes tailored to various age groups and skill levels, fostering a fun and inclusive learning environment
- Develop and implement creative curricula that incorporate movement, choreography, and performance skills
- Manage classroom activities effectively, ensuring safety and positive behavior among students
- Collaborate with other instructors to coordinate arts activities such as visual arts, theater, or musical performances when applicable
- Assist with planning and executing special events, recitals, or camp activities on short notice during the summer or fall sessions
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their artistic growth and confidence
- Maintain organized records of attendance, progress, and class materials
Requirements
- Proven experience in teaching dance instruction, choreography, or performing arts to children or youth programs
- Strong background in curriculum development and classroom management techniques
- Experience working with children, including understanding childhood development principles
- Skills in teaching visual & performing arts such as theater, music (instrumental performance), or photography are a plus
- Ability to work flexibly on short notice for last-minute camp assistance or special events
- Knowledge of musical instruments or dancing styles relevant to the program’s offerings is desirable
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards working with students of diverse backgrounds
- Relevant experience in arts education, tutoring, or adult education is beneficial
