The Academic Specialized Support Lead (ESE Specialist) will be responsible for leading the Specialized Support Services Department and working closely with the Academic Support team to establish a program that directly supports students who have IEPs, 504s or other documentation to ensure the school system supports all learners in reaching their full potential.

Attend Weekly Meetings as directed by the Academic Director.

Host Weekly Academic Specialized Services Meeting.

Meet with Teachers/ Teachers Aides in person on a weekly/biweekly basis.

Conduct/Support with Parent Meetings.

Support with virtual and inperson academic seminars
-
Assist with training new Academic Staff policies and procedures pertaining to Academic Specialized Support Services.

Provide training and support on each campus
-
Implementation of behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and minimize challenging behaviors.

Train staff on how to read, understand and implement Individualized Education Plan (IEPs) for students with special needs.

Review IEPs for students who are enrolling with foundations academy.

Update and Monitor the SPED database.

Monitor and meet with each campus team to review and implement best practices in the classroom.

Monitor completion of iReady ( students in the database with IEPs, 504s and identified struggling learners school system wide)

Support with Monitoring Student Virtual Folders for Compliance Purposes (IEPs and any other documentation pertaining to students who have exceptionalities.

Support with campus Academic formal and informal evaluations with a focus on fostering a positive and inclusive classroom culture.

Assist the Academic Support team with duties as directed.
