What You’ll Do:As a veterinary technician at EWAH, you will:
- Assist in various medical and surgical procedures, including anesthesia monitoring, venipuncture, catheter placement, and surgical preparation.
- Perform radiology and dental procedures, including taking dental radiographs.
- Utilize in-house lab equipment for diagnostics.
- Provide compassionate patient care and thorough documentation.
- Foster strong relationships with clients by offering clear communication and support.
- Work closely with our veterinarians and support staff in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Work with patients in an environment to help reduce/eliminate fear, anxiety and stress in our patients.
Required Skills:
- Venipuncture and catheter placement
- Radiology and laser therapy
- Anesthesia monitoring and patient assessments
- Surgical assistance and preparation
- Dentistry (including dental radiographs)
- Laboratory work (Idexx in-house lab equipment)
- General pharmacy knowledge
- Excellent communication skills, both with clients and colleagues
- Ability to multi-task, stay organized, and think quickly
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 year of experience as a veterinary nurse. Certification or certification eligible preferred.
- Outgoing, team-oriented, and eager to contribute to a positive work environment
- Committed to maintaining high standards of patient care and client relationships
- Must be able to type 40 wpm as we use electronic medical records
- Knowledge of Cornerstone a plus.
