Director of Perioperative Services
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Director of Perioperative Services to provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership across perioperative services. This leader will oversee the day-to-day operations of the surgical department while partnering closely with physicians, nursing leadership, anesthesia, and hospital administration to deliver safe, efficient, high-quality patient care.
The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who can balance operational performance with staff engagement, physician relationships, patient experience, and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and accountability for perioperative services, including operating rooms and related surgical areas.
- Direct staffing, scheduling, productivity, resource utilization, and departmental operations.
- Develop and implement initiatives that improve quality, patient safety, efficiency, and the overall surgical experience.
- Establish performance goals and use operational and clinical data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Build strong working relationships with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing teams, and hospital leadership.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and professional development for perioperative staff.
- Promote a culture focused on accountability, teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor departmental budgets, expenses, supplies, equipment, and capital needs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve operating room utilization, throughput, case volume, and overall efficiency.
- Support the implementation of new surgical programs, technology, processes, and equipment.
- Serve as a visible and engaged leader for the perioperative services team.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related healthcare discipline required.
- Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive perioperative or surgical services experience.
- Previous management or director-level leadership experience in an operating room or perioperative environment required.
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex surgical operations.
- Strong understanding of staffing, budgeting, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and perioperative workflows.
Licensure & Certifications
- Current RN license in the state of Georgia or eligibility for Georgia licensure required.
- BLS certification required.
- CNOR or other relevant perioperative certification preferred.

Pay: Up to $180,000.00 per year
