Lakeshore Cutting Solutions is looking for a dependable, motivated person to support and assist shop personnel with a variety of fabrication and manufacturing needs. This position offers an excellent introduction to metal processing, fabrication, and job-shop manufacturing.

This position is especially well suited for individuals who are currently taking, or have previously taken, welding, CNC machining, fabrication, or manufacturing classes and would like to expand their hands-on knowledge in a real shop environment.
The Manufacturing Utility Technician will work in multiple areas of the shop and assist experienced team members with production welding, machining, bending, cutting, grinding, assembly, material handling, packaging, and general shop support.
Primary Responsibilities
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Support and assist shop personnel with fabrication and production needs
- Assist with operation of CNC equipment, including lasers, waterjets, and machining centers
- Assist with press brake bending and forming of metal parts
- Assist with welding preparation, welding support, grinding, and finishing
- Perform deburring, sanding, grinding, and general part cleanup
- Assist with PEMserting and hardware insertion
- Perform basic assembly of parts and components
- Package finished parts for shipment
- Handle, move, organize, and stage materials, parts, and components
- Assist with shipping and receiving duties as assigned
- Help with inventory, material organization, and shop organization
- Participate in shop housekeeping and machine upkeep
- Follow work instructions, job travelers, and direction from supervisors or experienced shop personnel
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Basic mechanical ability or hands-on experience is helpful
- Welding, CNC, fabrication, construction, automotive, farm, maintenance, or shop-class experience is a plus, but not required
Physical Requirements
This position may require the ability to:
- Stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the shift
- Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and parts
- Use hand tools, grinders, deburring tools, and shop equipment
- Work safely around machinery, metal parts, forklifts, and manufacturing equipment
- Wear required personal protective equipment
Pay
Pay is based on experience.
