Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize guest rooms thoroughly, including making beds, dusting surfaces, vacuuming carpets, and replenishing amenities
- Handle various cleaning tasks using appropriate equipment such as vacuum cleaners, mops, and chemical agents while adhering to safety procedures
- Ensure proper handling of cleaning chemicals by following safety data sheets (SDS) and manufacturer instructions to maintain a safe environment
- Perform floor care duties including sweeping, mopping, and polishing to uphold high standards of cleanliness
- Assist with public area cleaning and sanitation to maintain the overall appearance of the hotel premises
- Follow hotel emergency procedures when necessary and report any hazards or maintenance issues promptly
- Manage manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting of linens, cleaning supplies, or equipment safely and efficiently
Skills
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping or custodial roles with knowledge of janitorial practices and industrial cleaning techniques
- Strong understanding of floor cleaning, floor care, sanitation standards, and the use of cleaning equipment
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely and responsibly while maintaining compliance with safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards guests and team members
- Physical stamina for manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting, prolonged standing, bending, and walking throughout shifts
- Familiarity with hotel housekeeping management systems or procedures is a plus
- Knowledge of hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for all
