BREWERY MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Job Overview
Brewery Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining safe and efficient function of brewing, packaging and warehousing operations at Nampa, ID production facility. This will include equipment maintenance, spare parts inventory, metal fabrication & repairs, troubleshooting & diagnosis of brewery systems in accordance with Mother Earth’s Standard Operating Procedures as directed by the Director of Brewing Operations.
General Responsibilities
· Address process or equipment breakdowns quickly and effective to get production back on track as soon as possible
· Monitor and maintain performance of the following critical brewery systems: boilers & associated steam delivery components; canning, bottling, kegging and associated packaging equipment; HVAC including glycol chiller, and cold box refrigeration system; brewhouse, cellar, and auxiliary controls; mill and malt handling system; forklifts and other warehouse equipment; air compressor and delivery components; pumps, motors, and small equipment generally used in brewing
· Provide budget proposals to improve operation of production equipment and expand brewery tool and equipment inventory
· Create and maintain preventative maintenance schedule for all production equipment based on manufacturer recommendations
· Help load, transport, and unload large equipment including operation of high capacity forklifts, cranes, and trailers
· Design, integrate, install, and maintain new production equipment including but not limited to packaging, filter, brewing, water treatment, wastewater treatment, and warehouse equipment
· Maintain clean and organized maintenance area including inventory system that can be maintained through company shared drive
· Order and inventory spare parts for all equipment to minimize production downtime
· Ensure equipment safe guards are functional and maintained to protect operator and MEBC personnel
· Maintain a safe work environment in accordance with OSHA regulations and Mother Earth Brew Co safety standards
· Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization around the brewery
· Alert Director of Brewing Operations immediately of equipment performance issues that impact production schedules or impact beer quality
· Other duties as directed by Head Brewer or Management
Qualifications
· Ability to work independently as a self-starter with highly effective time management skills
· Five years of relevant technical experience in the brewing industry, food/beverage manufacturing, or similar
production environment
· Strong mechanical, electrical, fabrication, plumbing, HVAC, and troubleshooting skills
· Knowledge of steam principles, HVAC, boiler, and brewery process and industrial controls
· Experience with maintaining brewery packaging equipment desired
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and email
· Flexible schedule when equipment breakdowns happen outside regular hours
· Technical or trade university degree or equivalent experience
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
