Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Entry-Level Behavior Therapist to join our dynamic team dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders. In this role, you will provide direct behavioral therapy, support clients in achieving their goals, and collaborate with families and interdisciplinary teams. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in applied behavior analysis (ABA) and behavioral health while making a meaningful difference in the community. No prior experience is required—training and mentorship will be provided to ensure your success.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on established ABA protocols to promote skill development and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as grooming, dressing, and communication skills, fostering independence.
- Collect and record behavioral data accurately during therapy sessions to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members to relay progress updates and address concerns professionally.
- Maintain confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations and managing medical documentation with precision.
- Participate in ongoing training on ethical standards, behavior management techniques, medical terminology, and client care protocols.
Skills
- Passion for helping children and individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders or disabilities.
- Experience working with children in educational or clinical settings is a plus; training provided for entry-level candidates.
- Ability to collect detailed behavioral data accurately and maintain comprehensive medical records.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and team members professionally.
- Familiarity with special education practices, medical terminology, and client care procedures is advantageous.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and ethical professionalism aligned with the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts.
