Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, knowledgeable Marijuana Budtender to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, educate customers on product offerings, and assist in creating a welcoming environment. This role requires strong communication skills, sales experience, and familiarity with retail operations, including POS systems and merchandising. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve our diverse clientele effectively.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with product selection based on individual needs and preferences
- Educate customers about different strains, edibles, concentrates, and other cannabis products through product demos and detailed explanations
- Operate POS systems accurately for sales transactions, including cash handling and retail math calculations
- Upsell products to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain proper merchandising by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Manage inventory levels by monitoring stock and assisting with stock replenishment
- Ensure compliance with all state and local regulations regarding cannabis sales and age restrictions
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting remote customers
- Assist in store cleanliness and organization to create an inviting shopping environment
Experience
- Prior retail sales experience, preferably in grocery stores or similar environments involving customer service and cashiering duties
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and retail math calculations
- Supervising experience is a plus for leadership roles or team oversight responsibilities
- Familiarity with cannabis products, including product demos and upselling techniques, is preferred but not required—training will be provided
- Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve a diverse customer base effectively
- Strong communication skills, friendly demeanor, and excellent phone etiquette are essential for success in this role
