Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse specializing in Pediatrics to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations and assess vital signs in pediatric patients to determine their health status.
- Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, following strict aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner to document patient care accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate and participate in diagnostic evaluations, including laboratory tests, imaging procedures like sonography or mammography, and specimen collection/processing.
- Manage acute pain and provide specialized care for children with complex medical conditions such as developmental disabilities or memory care needs.
- Assist with procedures like suturing, catheterization (including urinary and central lines), tube feeding, and ventilator management.
- Collaborate with physicians on treatment plans involving advanced therapies such as botulinum toxin treatment or ostomy care.
- Support families through discharge planning, health coaching, and education on medication administration or disease management.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure meticulous medical documentation for legal and quality assurance purposes.
- Participate in triage assessments in urgent care or emergency room settings to prioritize patient needs rapidly and effectively.
Experience
- Proven experience working with pediatric populations across various healthcare environments such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, or home care settings.
- Critical care experience in ICU or Level I Trauma Center settings is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for efficient documentation and patient management.
- Hands-on experience with advanced pediatric procedures including IV insertion, venipuncture, sterile processing, and airway management.
- Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9) for accurate medical records documentation.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs such as developmental delays or behavioral health conditions is a plus.
- Prior involvement in acute care scenarios including emergency medicine, trauma medicine, or neonatal intensive care (NICU/PICU).
- Strong understanding of physiology knowledge relevant to pediatrics along with proficiency in medical terminology and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
