LOCATION: Remote with quarterly travel to Lincolnshire, IL
PAY: Target pay for this role is between $65 and $85 per hour but may vary based on experience
ENGAGEMENT TYPE: Contract-to-Hire
DURATION: Contract expected to last 6 months before potential conversion
This is a Senior Individual Contributor Wiz Administrator (Cloud Security Platform Engineer) position.
You will own the day-to-day operation, tuning, and continuous improvement of the Wiz cloud-native application protection platform (CNAPP) across AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Kubernetes, and container workloads.
This is a hands-on technical opportunity for someone who wants to be the single accountable owner of a cloud security platform end to end. You will configure and maintain the Wiz deployment, triage and tune findings, drive issues through remediation with cloud, application, DevOps, and infrastructure teams, and help reduce the organization’s cloud attack surface.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own the Wiz tenant end to end, including cloud account and subscription connectors, projects, folders, scoping, role-based access control, SSO/SCIM integration, and license utilization.
- Deploy and maintain Wiz collection components, including the Wiz Sensor, Kubernetes admission controllers, outposts, and container registry connectors.
- Onboard new cloud accounts, subscriptions, projects, clusters, and code repositories and ensure appropriate scanning coverage.
- Design, build, and tune Wiz alert rules, policies, and controls.
- Triage Wiz findings, assess exploitability and blast radius using the Wiz Security Graph, and prioritize remediation based on business risk.
- Partner with cloud engineering, DevOps, application development, and infrastructure teams to drive findings through resolution.
- Build automation rules and workflows in Wiz and develop integrations using the Wiz API and GraphQL endpoints.
- Integrate Wiz Code, infrastructure-as-code scanning, and secrets detection into source control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Produce operational and executive reporting on cloud security posture, risk trends, remediation velocity, and SLA attainment.
- Support compliance requirements including PCI DSS, SOX ITGC, CIS Benchmarks, and internal security standards.
- 5+ years of experience in cloud security, cloud infrastructure engineering, security operations, or vulnerability management.
- 2+ years of hands-on administration of a CNAPP or cloud security posture management platform. Wiz is strongly preferred; Prisma Cloud, Orca, Lacework, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, or Aqua experience will also be considered.
- Working proficiency across at least two major cloud providers: AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, including IAM models, networking, and native security services.
- Demonstrated ability to triage security findings, assess real-world exploitability, and prioritize based on business risk.
- Hands-on experience with containers and Kubernetes, including cluster security concepts and workload scanning.
- Scripting and automation ability using Python, PowerShell, or Bash and comfort working with REST/GraphQL APIs.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code, with Terraform preferred, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong written communication skills and the interpersonal ability to drive remediation with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred qualifications include direct Wiz administration experience, cloud or security certifications, PCI DSS and SOX ITGC experience, security-tool integrations with SIEM/SOAR/ITSM/observability platforms, and exposure to DSPM and sensitive data discovery.
