Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician to join our assisted living facility. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, documentation, and the specific needs of individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia. The Medication Technician will work closely with nursing staff and caregivers to provide high-quality care while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Administer prescribed medications to residents according to established protocols and guidelines.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each resident, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
Monitor residents for any adverse reactions or side effects from medications and report findings to nursing staff.
Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans based on residents' needs.
Provide support and assistance in daily living activities as needed, including personal hygiene and mobility.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for residents with dementia or developmental disabilities.
Stay informed about changes in medication protocols, policies, and best practices within the healthcare field.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Medication Technician for at least 6 months is preferred
Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in senior care or home care environments, is preferred.
Knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, and documentation practices is essential.
Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or dementia is highly desirable.
Understanding of medical records management and adherence to HIPAA regulations is required.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are crucial for success in this role.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule: Full-Time, AM shift (6:30am-2:30pm); PM shift (2:30pm-10:30pm); NOC shift (10:30pm-6:30am)
