Part-Time Ski/Snowboard Instructor
We are seeking a Part-time Ski/Snowboard Instructor to help at our Indoor Ski School for kids fundamental courses.
This position will be great for students and part-time workers.
Positions open :
Friday and Monday nights 4-8pm, Saturday and Sunday classes and party coach 8am-7pm (morning or afternoon shift options)
Shredder Ski School, based out of Denver, Colorado, is Chicago's first year-round ski and snowboard business dedicated to teaching the fundamentals of snow sports. Shredder offers classes for children ranging from 10 months to 10 years old. Our classes cover fundamental ski/board skills, along with coordination and developmental activities and games. Shredder utilizes indoor slopes with a unique Xtreme Grassworx (technical dry ramp) that simulates snow. Along with our core fundamental classes Shredder offers summer camps, private 1 on 1 lessons, open gyms, and birthday parties.
As a Ski/Snowboard Instructor, you would be expected to bring tremendous energy and to teach classes (alongside 1-3 additional instructors) that range from 45 minutes to an hour in length.
Responsibilities include:
● Assisting children in “gearing up” by putting on boots, skis/boards, and helmet.
● Instructing and assisting children in moving in both boots and skis/boards throughout the facility.
● Instructing children on our fundamental ski/boards skills, on both flat ground and on our slopes.
● Guiding children through games and activities in our “play room”.
● Assisting children in “gearing down” by removing all gear and organizing neatly.
To be a Part-Time Instructor, you must:
● Be physically able to lift/assist children from ages 1-10 years old.
● Maintain high energy and enthusiasm throughout the entire class period, continuously encouraging the kids and providing clear, constructive feedback.
● Ensure safety of children at all times; be diligent and attentive to all children in your group.
● Have general knowledge of skiing/snowboarding fundamentals and be willing to learn our methods/terms.
● Be flexible and a team player! Kids can be unpredictable, so keeping patience and a positive attitude is key!
