Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic services that help patients improve their ability to perform daily activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Provide direct patient care to individuals across various age groups, including pediatrics and geriatrics.
- Support patients in developing skills for daily living and working through therapeutic exercises and activities.
- Document patient progress and report any changes in condition to the supervising therapist.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients during therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and home exercises.
Skills
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to occupational therapy practices.
- Knowledge of physiology and its application in patient care.
- Experience in acute care and inpatient settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with developing care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Ability to work effectively in skilled nursing facilities or clinics.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Compassionate approach to patient care with a focus on improving quality of life.
