Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to ensure a welcoming atmosphere
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable, ensuring quick and precise entry
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, recommend specials, and upsell items to enhance the guest experience and increase sales
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and presentation
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties, while balancing registers at shift end
- Maintain cleanliness by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and supporting kitchen staff with basic food preparation when needed
- Foster positive guest relations through attentive service, addressing questions or concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or nightlife settings such as nightclubs or upscale restaurants
- Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, and OpenTable for order management and sales tracking
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
- Ability to multitask effectively with strong time management skills in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and managing bills efficiently
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with food industry tools such as serving trays, bussing supplies, and kitchen equipment is preferred
- Familiarity with upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring guest satisfaction
- Previous host/hostess or food industry experience is advantageous for understanding guest relations and service flow
