Overview of Position
The Assistant Taproom Manager helps lead daily operations of the taproom, supporting staff, creating excellent guest experiences, and ensuring smooth day-to-day execution.
This position works closely with Shift Leads, the Operations Manager, the Multi-Site Operations Manager, and other members of the leadership team to support daily operations and contribute to a collaborative, team-focused work environment. The role provides an opportunity to develop leadership and management skills while preparing for future growth into higher-level leadership positions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as a visible leader during operating hours, assisting staff and supporting customers as needed.
- Represent the Kinkaider brand (and its sister concept, Bierhaus Maisschaler) with professionalism and hospitality.
- Assist in onboarding, training, and coaching team members on service standards and procedures.
- Support ordering and inventory management of kegs, cans, bottles, spirits, glassware, and merchandise.
- Help maintain accuracy in financial tasks such as drawer reconciliation, deposits, and tip tracking.
- Ensure daily cleanliness and upkeep of the taproom, kitchen, restrooms, draft systems, and surrounding areas.
- Enforce health, safety, and alcohol compliance throughout the taproom and kitchen.
- Monitor service to ensure staff pour and serve beverages responsibly and consistently.
- Contribute to creating and managing staff schedules in collaboration with the Operations Manager and other members of the leadership team.
- Operate and help troubleshoot the POS system, cash handling, and back-office tools.
- Assist with menu management and communicate changes to staff as needed.
- Work as part of a leadership team to manage daily operations, share responsibilities, and support each other in achieving restaurant goals.
- Contribute to location goals, such as improving service efficiency, product quality, and team morale.
Requirements and Skills
- Previous experience in a restaurant, brewery, or taproom setting; supervisory or shift lead experience strongly preferred.
- Passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding customer service.
- Solid understanding of food and beverage service standards.
- Comfortable supporting staff leadership, resolving conflicts, and delivering feedback.
- Experience with schedule writing and understanding of labor.
- Knowledge of ordering, setting pars, and identifying cost efficiencies.
- Reliable, organized, and proactive in supporting day-to-day operations.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Eager to learn and grow into higher levels of responsibility, with potential for advancement into senior leadership roles.
- Experience with Toast and 7Shifts is a plus.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
