At Lakeside Cabinets & Design, the final finish is what sets our craftsmanship apart. We are looking for a skilled Cabinet Finisher and Painter to join our team in Grant, AL, and take ownership of our finishing department. In this role, you aren’t just spraying paint; you are the final line of quality control, transforming raw wood components into flawless, showroom-ready cabinetry. Because we are a busy custom shop, this is an active, physical role where you will be on your feet, lifting components, and jumping in to help fine-tune the prep work or sanding whenever a project requires an extra hand. We maintain a clean, organized, and well-ventilated shop where you will have the premium tools, dedicated spray booth, and team support needed to do your best work. Beyond the booth, you will manage our finishing inventory, work directly with our material vendors to keep the right products on the shelf. If you take pride in a perfect finish, thrive in an active environment, and want a straightforward, respectful workspace where your skills are valued, we would love to talk to you.
Key Responsibilities
- Prep, prime, paint, and stain custom cabinets, doors, and trim using professional spray equipment.
- Manage finishing inventory by tracking stock levels, ordering paint, and interacting directly with vendors.
- Collaborate closely with both the sanding team and the pre-install assembly team to ensure a seamless production flow.
- Maintain a clean, dust-free spray booth and an organized workstation to ensure high-quality finishes and shop safety.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in professional spray-finishing for cabinetry, furniture, or high-end architectural woodwork.
- Physical capability to stand for long periods, bend, reach, and lift 50 pounds regularly in a shop environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a solid understanding of proper wood-sanding and surface-prep techniques.
- Professional communication skills for direct vendor relations.
- Self-motivated and organized enough to manage ordering timelines and keep the finishing department running efficiently.
