This is a full time onsite position with hybrid flexibility 1 day working from home.
Responsibilities
- Hands on Firmware Development on Microcontrollers
- Design, Code, Test and Release Firmware Modules using C/C++ or Python for Various Microcontrollers that runs on Bare metal, RTOS or Linux.
- Work Electronics and Electrical engineers to troubleshoot issues during development.
- Candidates will work Firmware Development Toolchains, Electronic circuit boards, Oscilloscopes, Spectrum analyzers and all other embedded development tools.
- Contribute to IOT Cloud Development
- Develop and implement algorithms
- Ability to work in a fast-moving and Rapid Prototyping environment
- Contribute to the new product designs and research activities
- Contribute to the evolution of existing products by enhancing and/or improving existing features
- Contribute to product testing ideas, debugging, and troubleshooting
- Support the development and implementation of software for new products
- Collaborate firmware development tasks with the software team locally and internationally
- Support the fulfillment of our development roadmap strategy
- Collaborate and assist our Product Certification Vendors
- Formulate new firmware development platforms geared to accommodate future developments
- Develop firmware features targeted to control, monitor and diagnose all aspects of customer systems in consumer, residential, industrial, medical and commercial applications
- Responsible for the proper conduction and documentation of processes during firmware development
- Perform relevant testing and validation of the developed firmware following proper code development guidelines
- Translate market requirements into firmware features as part of Life-cycle management of existing products
- Collaborate in simulation modelling during the investigation of new features considered for implementation
- Support specific tasks as instructed within scope of work
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or master’s degree in computer science, Electronics, Industrial Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related field plus 1-2 years of experience
- Hands on knowledge of Firmware Development
- Experience with Keil, GCC, Eclipse based IDEs,
- Experience with architecture of microcontrollers such as STM32 ARM Cortex, Nordic Semiconductor, Silicon Labs, Microchip, Texas Instruments, Microchip or Cypress with knowledge of programming the modules and peripherals on the microcontroller
- Experience with Oscilloscope, Multimeter, Spectrum Analyzer is a plus.
- Experience with Hardware Debuggers and Emulators
- Embedded Systems and IOT Electronics
- Experience with bare metal or RTOS.
- Experience in communication protocol development in Modbus, RS232, TCP/IP etc.
- Significant device driver development for several of the following interface types: USB, I2C, SPI, UART, JTAG, GPIO, ADC, CAN
- Familiarity with RF technologies and chipsets such as WIFI, BLE, LORA and Zigbee
- Proven track record in the development of embedded firmware design for electrical power products
- Understudying for computer algorithms
- Knowledge and familiarity with embedded systems and the constructions of software platforms in microcontrollers, DSPs and microprocessors.
- Fluent with software languages including C and C++, Assembly and hardware centric development environment
- Familiar with software release and version control practices, revision control tools, such as CVS, and/or Git
- Proficient in documentation of software code. Familiar with best practices in code constructions
- Comfortable working in collaboration with small teams as well as independently
- Ability to learn, diagnose and implement features and bug fixes in embedded systems
- Strong communication skills
- Sense of development ownership, responsibility and working commitment
- Experienced in the conduction of software code reviews and validation of segmented pieces of code (using unit testing, etc.)
