Index: 01/N/02: $40.13/hour and up depending on verified experience for NEW to District Employees

Transferring employees or former District employees hired into this role will be placed on the "N" letter grade of the Classified Salary Schedule, but the initial step placement will vary based on a variety of factors.

For positions that qualify, the District offers a benefit package that is valued at more than $10,000 annually. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERSI) and are provided to Classified employees who work at least half time (20 hours per week) or more in a regular position and to Certified employees with a .50 FTE or greater contract.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, or equivalent experience in the Human Resources field.

Preferred three (3) years of supervisory experience

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction of the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Manager will lead, manage, and direct the daily operations and functions of the District’s Human Resources Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manages the daily operations of the Human Resources Department.

Manages the District’s benefits plans and implements changes to meet the requirements of new laws and/or regulations.

Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation, both Federal and State.

Ensures District compliance with all Federal and State legislation pertaining to human resources and benefits matters.

Oversees the District’s certified and classified hiring process.

Implements quality practices including benchmarking and measurement systems.

Collaborates with IT, Payroll, and other District departments to ensure the successful implementation and maintenance of the District’s human resources and payroll management systems.

Drafts written communications with regard to human resources and benefits.

Plans, organizes, and implements programs and special projects as directed.

Participates on committees as directed.

Attends and participates in conferences and other training to enhance job performance.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Knowledge of:

Principles, practices, and procedures of human resources and benefits.

Practices and procedures related to certificated and classified personnel.

Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations.

Board and District policies.

Employee contracts.

Effective supervision, evaluation, progressive discipline and due process requirements.

District organization, operations, policies and objectives.

Record-keeping and report preparation techniques.

EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION:
