Pay: $18.00–$22.00 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Evening, Overnight, and Weekend Shifts Available
About Poised Properties
Poised Properties is a locally owned property management company dedicated to providing quality housing and exceptional resident service throughout the Portland Metro area. We are seeking a reliable, professional, and observant Desk Monitor to assist with building operations, resident relations, and property monitoring at one of our downtown Portland communities.
Position Summary
The Desk Monitor serves as the first point of contact for residents, guests, and visitors while assisting with building operations, visitor management, common area oversight, and resident support. This position requires professionalism, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to effectively document and report concerns.
Essential ResponsibilitiesBuilding Monitoring
- Monitor front entrance activity and visitor access.
- Verify guest identification and maintain visitor logs as required.
- Observe and document property concerns, policy violations, or unusual activity.
- Conduct routine walkthroughs of common areas.
- Complete incident reports accurately and professionally.
Resident Relations
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to residents and visitors.
- Answer general questions and direct residents to appropriate staff resources.
- Maintain a welcoming and professional environment.
Property Operations
- Perform light janitorial duties including:
- Sweeping and vacuuming common areas
- Cleaning entryways and windows
- Maintaining restroom cleanliness
- Picking up litter around the property
- Report maintenance concerns and property issues to management.
- Assist in maintaining common areas in a clean and orderly condition.
Communication & Documentation
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with management and fellow staff members.
- Attend required trainings and meetings.
- Notify management of incidents, maintenance concerns, and policy violations.
Emergency Procedures
- Follow company procedures during emergencies or unusual incidents.
- Contact emergency responders when appropriate.
- Notify management of incidents requiring follow-up.
QualificationsRequired
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to remain professional in a variety of situations.
- Strong observation and documentation skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred
- Experience in property management, front desk operations, hospitality, customer service, social services, or related fields.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Bilingual or multilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk the property and climb stairs as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
