Association to Benefit Children (ABC) is a non-profit dedicated to ensuring that every child has a joyful, healthy, and safe life through compassionate and innovative programs since 1986. We are hiring a Case Worker for our preventive services program aimed at restoring relationships with at-risk families. This is a full-time position. Hours are 8am-4pm. The ideal candidate is a service-oriented individual who thrives in a social work environment working with diverse populations and maintaining a positive attitude in difficult situations. Our Case Workers meet with clients and discuss the services we have to offer, assisting with program usage and making recommendations for additional services that could be helpful.
Responsibilities of the Case Worker:
- Understand the child and family's situation to provide information and support.
- Assess the family's strengths and needs in home visits.
- Plan, coordinate and implement groups and social activities for children, parents and families.
- Provide or arrange referrals for medical, social service, legal, or family counseling.
- Refer client to community services.
- Make required home visits including collateral caregiver homes where children are cared for during the month and collateral contacts, in order to meet ACS minimum contact mandates
- Provide short-term crisis intervention and concrete services including advocacy, outreach and referral for designated caseload, as well as emergencies.
Qualifications of the Case Worker:
- BSW/BA with related experience.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Must be able to work some evenings
- Excellent organizational, written, and communication skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
- At least one year of experience working with at-risk youth and families
- Must have a commitment to work from a trauma-informed, strength-based background for youth and family
Case Worker Salary Range: $36,000-$44,000 with more for experience
