Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support for high-volume Gas AMI head-end system operations.
- Analyze and resolve complex data quality issues, system defects, and integration failures
Monitor and troubleshoot system performance and failures.
- Investigate and resolve complex application job failures, including missed runs, long-running processes, data delays, and upstream/downstream impacts.
- Partner with vendor and infrastructure support teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee and support integrations between the Gas AMI head-end system and the Meter Data Management System (MDMS).
- Execute comprehensive testing cycles (functional, performance, and operational readiness testing) for system changes, defect fixes, and new functionality.
- Develop and contribute to test strategies in collaboration with the testing team.
- Participate in projects such as hardware lifecycle upgrades, software upgrades, and backhaul network enhancements.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, runbooks, and operational standards.
- Participate in incident management, including ticket creation, root cause analysis, and coordination with infrastructure partners/vendors for resolution.
- Provide 24/7 on-call operational support.
- Perform vulnerability management, including OS patch certification and managing vulnerability remediation tickets to meet SLAs
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Windows, Linux, MS SQL, Oracle, Kafka, VB.NET, and IIS, including 24/7 on-call application support.
- Experience supporting AMI systems in a utility environment.
- Strong understanding of smart meter technologies, interval data, and utility business processes.
- Advanced SQL expertise for troubleshooting, reporting, and data validation.
- Experience supporting California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) compliance, including access controls and change management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with executive leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes (open-source), and Python.
- Experience with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems.
- Familiarity with ITIL standards and tools such as ServiceNow, PagerDuty, SCOM, SCCM, and SecureApp.
- Knowledge of AMI head-end systems and communication networks.
- Experience with large-scale AMI deployments, including simulation testing.
- Understanding of cybersecurity compliance frameworks
Technical Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with MS SQL (performance tuning, T-SQL development, data validation, and troubleshooting).
- Experience supporting applications on Windows and Linux platforms, including job monitoring and log analysis.
- Experience with Windows IIS, Kafka, and .NET applications.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python for automation.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across application, database, and OS layers.
- Experience with enterprise workload automation tools (e.g., UC4/Automic).
- Experience supporting business-critical batch processing and time-sensitive data flows.
- Experience with data center disaster recovery, including DR testing and exercises
