Job Summary
The Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing routine facility maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of warehouse and office areas. This role supports day-to-day operations by ensuring equipment, infrastructure, and systems are functioning safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with tools, basic construction, and general repair work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform general facility maintenance including minor repairs to building structures, equipment, and systems
- Use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively for repairs and installations
- Complete basic carpentry work (repairs to doors, shelving, fixtures, etc.)
- Perform minor plumbing repairs (fixing leaks, unclogging drains, replacing fixtures)
- Perform basic electrical work (changing light fixtures, bulbs, outlets – within scope and safety guidelines)
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities and report maintenance issues
- Assist with preventative maintenance programs for warehouse equipment and infrastructure
- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area and ensure tools are properly stored
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner
- Follow all company safety policies, including HACCP and OSHA standards
- Work closely with management and other departments to support operational needs
Minimum Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of facility maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Experience using power tools and maintenance equipment
- Ability to communicate in English (preferred; fluent strongly preferred)
- Basic computer skills (email, simple systems, or work order tracking)
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb ladders during shift
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment (cold storage, varying conditions)
Work Expectations
- Follow assigned schedule and report to supervisor for daily tasks
- Work independently with minimal supervision when needed
- Overtime must be approved in advance
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and efficiency at all times
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
