Job Summary:
The Operations Support Technician/Field Service Technician is responsible for providing safe, efficient, and reliable support to customers. This role identifies opportunities to improve service delivery and provides technical assistance, preventive maintenance (PM), warranty service, equipment start-up, and support for major equipment installations.
Job Description for Operations Support Technician/Field Service Technician:
- Rebuild, maintain, and service centrifuges and other SWECO equipment as part of the company's rebuild and maintenance programs.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment to meet customer expectations.
- Perform preventive maintenance, warranty work, and equipment start-up at customer locations.
- Provide technical assistance and support through phone, email, and other communication channels.
- Supply application, modification, and warranty information related to equipment.
- Prepare technical reports and document product issues, findings, and corrective actions.
- Support sales efforts by conducting equipment field tests and assisting visiting customers.
- Coordinate with field sales, customer service, and management teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Plan and organize work schedules and assignments to meet customer requirements.
- Conduct field testing, quality audits, and safety audits as requested.
- Complete additional assignments and projects as directed by management.
Skills Required for Operations Support Technician/Field Service Technician:
- Welding experience required; certification and/or trade school training preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of mechanical assembly experience required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude; electrical experience preferred.
- Familiarity with ISO 9000 standards and continuous improvement processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial equipment.
- Willingness to travel 10–50% or more based on business needs.
- Valid driver's license required; ability to obtain and maintain a CDL after hire.
- Strong customer service, interpersonal, and sales support skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical, organizational, administrative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required
