Position Summary:
The Field Automation Technician I is responsible for providing field-level technical support for the iCOMBO product line, including installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer training. This role operates independently in the field and requires strong self-direction, professional communication, and thorough documentation of all service activities.
Essential Functions:
- Perform installation and startup of iCOMBO equipment at customer sites, following established procedures and engineering specifications
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and service calls on iCOMBO units independently, ensuring minimal equipment downtime
- Troubleshoot and diagnose basic mechanical, electrical, and control system issues on iCOMBO equipment; escalate complex issues to senior technicians or engineering
- Deliver customer-facing training on iCOMBO equipment operation, routine maintenance procedures, and safety protocols; ensure customers are confident and competent in day-to-day use of the product
- Complete all field service documentation accurately and promptly, including service reports, work orders, parts usage logs, and customer sign-off forms
- Maintain detailed records of equipment configurations, serial numbers, and as-built conditions for each site visit
- Communicate job status, customer feedback, and equipment issues to the iCOMBO Coordinator and Operations Manager in a timely manner
- Manage personal schedule and travel logistics to meet service commitments; maintain accountability for time and productivity while working independently
- Inspect, maintain, and organize personal tool inventory and company-issued equipment to ensure readiness for field deployment
- Perform basic torqueing tasks using calibrated tools in accordance with company specifications and safety standards
- Load, transport, and secure iCOMBO components and service materials for safe delivery to and from job sites
- Verify equipment readiness and conduct pre-startup checks prior to startup or returning equipment to service
- Adhere to all company, customer, and regulatory Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements at all times
- Represent MidCentral professionally at customer locations; maintain a customer-first mindset in all interactions
- Attend scheduled meetings, briefings, and training sessions—in person or virtually—to support communication, coordination, and professional development
- Be available and on call 24 hours per day
- Travel to designated job sites as required

- Work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and/or weekends and holidays and during emergency situations such as inclement weather
- Maintain regular, timely attendance and communicate schedule changes proactively
- Respond to emergency service situations
- Travel extensively to customer sites across assigned territory, including overnight travel as required
Physical Demands
- Required to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods of time
- Push, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs
- Bend, stoop, kneel, and move intermittently throughout the day
- May be exposed to fumes, odors, dust, moving mechanical parts, and vehicles
- Exposure to extreme weather conditions, such as heat, cold, rain, snow, and ice
- Exposure to potentially dangerous work areas and environments
Minimum Education Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Minimum Experience:
One (1) year of maintenance, operations, or field service experience
OR equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the duties of the job
Other:
This position is safety sensitive. It is subject to pre-employment and/or periodic background checks, motor vehicle records (MVR) and drug testing.
Driving Requirements:
Must possess a valid driver’s license, must be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of three (3) years of driving history. Must maintain a satisfactory driving record to safely operate company vehicles.
