Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sit Down Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient movement, loading, and unloading of materials within our distribution center. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of warehouse operations, safety protocols, and equipment handling to support seamless logistics processes. As a key team member, you will contribute to maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and productivity in a fast-paced environment. 12:30pm to 9pm M-F OT
Responsibilities
- Operate sit-down forklifts, including reach trucks and Hi-Lo equipment, to load, unload, and transport materials safely within the warehouse.
- Manage inventory through accurate barcode scanning and update warehouse management systems to ensure real-time stock visibility.
- Assist with order picking using various equipment such as clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and manual handling tools to fulfill shipping and receiving requirements.
- Maintain strict adherence to OSHA and forklift safety standards during all equipment operation and materials handling tasks.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by efficiently stacking pallets, organizing storage areas, and preparing shipments for dispatch.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow, improve inventory accuracy, and uphold safety standards in production environments.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, or similar material handling equipment in a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning technology for logistics, and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and forklift safety protocols.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to inventory counts, weight measurements, and load capacities.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations including heavy lifting, manual handling, and materials management.
- Prior experience with warehouse supervision or leadership roles is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with a commitment to safety standards in production environments.
