The G111 Leukemia Unit offers support to those undergoing therapy for leukemia and other immunologic cancers. Our talented, specially trained nurses assist with chemotherapies and intensive intravenous therapies, such as IV antibiotics, antivirals, antifungals, blood products and electrolyte replacements. As an LPN on the team, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional, top-quality care to a diverse patient population. In this role, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, all while enhancing your nursing skills through hands-on experience and numerous educational resources offered within the Cleveland Clinic system.
A caregiver in this role works nights from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Collect, document and report patient data and observations.
Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.
Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.
Perform routine laboratory tests.
Educate patients and family members.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate of an accredited Practical or Vocational Nursing Program
Current Ohio licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
