Gemma, a modern Italian and French bistro, is seeking a talented and driven Chef de Cuisine to join our leadership team.
A James Beard Award finalist for Outstanding Hospitality and recognized as a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2024 and 2025,
Gemma is built on a foundation of seasonal ingredients, refined technique, and genuine hospitality. What You’ll Do:
- Lead daily kitchen operations with precision, consistency, and professionalism
- Maintain and elevate the standards that define the Gemma experience
- Coach, mentor, and develop line cooks through hands-on leadership and consistent feedback
- Foster a culture of accountability while creating a positive, respectful, and hospitable work environment
- Work closely with ownership and leadership on menu development and seasonal changes
- Uphold the highest standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and execution
- Manage ordering, inventory, food cost, and labor efficiency
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine in a high-caliber restaurant
- A leader who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and developing cooks into stronger professionals
- The ability to hold yourself and your team accountable to consistently high standards
- Strong leadership skills with a calm, solutions-oriented mindset
- Deep respect for Italian and French culinary traditions, techniques, and seasonal ingredients
- A commitment to excellence, organization, consistency, and team culture
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment
