Homewood Suites by Hilton – Phoenix Gilbert is seeking a skilled, reliable, and team-oriented Restaurant Cook to join our opening team. This is an exciting opportunity to help launch a brand-new hotel and play a key role in delivering high-quality food and exceptional guest experiences from day one.

Position Summary
The Restaurant Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting menu items according to established recipes, quality standards, and food safety guidelines. This position supports the hotel's restaurant, bar menu, catering functions, and special events while ensuring guests receive consistently excellent food and service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines
- Ensure food quality, freshness, and consistency during every shift
- Assist with breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquet, and catering food preparation as needed
- Properly prepare ingredients including chopping, slicing, portioning, and storing products
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
- Monitor food inventory and communicate supply needs to management
- Assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Minimize food waste and support cost-control initiatives
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house team members
- Assist with pre-opening kitchen setup, training, and operational preparations
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant, hotel, or food service cooking experience required
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
- Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- Arizona Food Handler Card required (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Hotel restaurant experience preferred
- Banquet or catering experience a plus
- Experience working in an opening restaurant or hotel preferred
- Knowledge of breakfast and casual dining operations
