Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our medical imaging team. In this vital role, you will operate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners to produce detailed images that assist in diagnostic evaluation and patient care. Your expertise will ensure high-quality image acquisition while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and comfort. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of radiology procedures, medical terminology, and advanced imaging techniques, contributing to accurate diagnoses and improved patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Operate MRI scanners to capture high-resolution images for diagnostic purposes, ensuring optimal image quality and patient positioning.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, addressing concerns, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Assist with other diagnostic imaging procedures such as computed tomography (CT), DEXA scans for bone density measurement, sonography, and vascular access procedures.
- Maintain strict adherence to equipment safety procedures and infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques.
- Ensure proper use of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) for storing, retrieving, and transmitting images securely.
- Verify patient identity and medical history to ensure accurate diagnosis and safe imaging practices.
- Monitor patients throughout procedures, responding promptly to any adverse reactions or discomfort.
- Keep detailed records of imaging procedures, equipment maintenance, and safety checks in compliance with patient safety regulations.
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare professionals to facilitate diagnostic radiology assessments.
- Stay updated on advancements in medical imaging technology and participate in ongoing professional development.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating MRI scanners along with familiarity with CT, DEXA scan, sonography, and other diagnostic modalities.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to radiology.
- Experience with medical equipment operation, including MRI systems and related diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of equipment safety procedures and infection control standards.
- Ability to perform IV insertions and vascular access techniques safely.
- Excellent understanding of patient safety regulations and patient care best practices.
- Competence in using PACS for image management and reporting.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification is required to respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Effective communication skills for explaining procedures clearly to patients and collaborating with healthcare teams.
- Attention to detail in image acquisition, documentation, and equipment maintenance.
