Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support the safe and reliable operation of our converting, printing, extruding, and ancillary manufacturing equipment. This hands-on role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems, as well as performing general facility and grounds maintenance.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, a sense of urgency, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Diagnose and repair equipment failures on converting, printing, extruding, and related production equipment.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance to maximize equipment uptime.
- Install, modify, and commission new machinery and equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot PLC, DCS, motor controls, sensors, and control circuits.
- Perform welding, fabrication, machining, and fixture/tool repairs as needed.
- Maintain spare parts inventory and assist with sourcing maintenance materials and components.
- Complete work orders and maintenance documentation using CMMS software.
- Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow all safety procedures and promote safe work practices throughout the facility.
- Provide guidance and training to other team members when needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience in industrial machine repair, maintenance, or a technical manufacturing role preferred.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, safety rules, and maintenance manuals.
- Experience with welding/fabrication, lathes, mills, and machining preferred.
- Familiarity with PLC and industrial control systems.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and CMMS systems.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with elevated temperatures.
