Animal Medical Center of Gahanna
AMC is a busy 7 doctor practice located in Gahanna, OH. We are looking for a new kennel assistant who wants to grow and stay in the veterinary field.
Kennel Assistant : This position is part or full-time. Applicant must be available to work some mornings/evenings, some weekends, and an occasional holiday. The kennel position will primarily be in charge of caring for boarding pets, running doggie daycare, bathing pets, keeping laundry running, and helping keep the hospital clean. The ideal candidate will be self motivated, able to communicate efficiently with clients and the veterinary team, pays attention to detail, and is reliable.
Position requirements:
- Employee needs be self-motivated and able to stay on task.
- Employee must have proper phone etiquette, and be able to communicate well with co-workers and clients.
- Employee must be able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours. Use of hands to grasp, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
- Employee is required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
- Employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs without assistance and 100lbs with assistance.
- Employee will be required to work between 6 to 10 hours a day.
- Employee may be exposed to medications, chemicals, anesthetics and x-rays potentially harmful to pregnancy or respiratory conditions (asthma, allergies, etc)
- Employee may be required to work after hours
- Employee will be required to restrain and care for unruly/aggressive dogs, cats, pigs, pocket pets, small reptiles, birds, fish, etc
- Employee will be required to handle feces, urine, blood, pus, other fluids, and detached body parts of animals
