An exceptional opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide individualized support for a student during Extended School Year (ESY) services this summer. This flexible, contract role (super part-time) is ideal for professionals seeking to make a meaningful impact while maintaining a balanced schedule.
In this position, you will work closely with a 20-year-old student who utilizes Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) with Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). Your expertise will help support the student’s unique communication needs in a supportive and collaborative educational environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- State licensure as required for SLP practice
- Experience with AAC devices and PECS
- Background working with pediatric or adolescent populations in school or healthcare settings
- Demonstrated commitment to customized, student-centered intervention
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct one hour of direct SLP service per week (schedule flexible within 9am-3pm, June 8-26 and July 13-31)
- Implement and monitor communication goals, focusing on AAC (PECS) use
- Collaborate with school staff to support educational and functional outcomes
- Document progress and strategies for continued development
- Adapt sessions to student needs to maximize engagement and progress
This is a contract position with maximum scheduling flexibility—just one hour per week onsite, dates and times negotiable within the ESY window.
