Job Summary
A Laborer is responsible for safely and efficiently performing general labor duties at a hauling company, storage yard or on routes. Responsibilities may include such things as yard clean-up, truck maintenance, fueling vehicles and equipment, general vehicle operation, general office maintenance and other related duties.
General Duties:
- Safely and efficiently perform assigned job responsibilities.
- Perform general cleaning of office buildings, trucks, trash cans, restrooms, locker rooms, break rooms, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect assigned areas.
- Empty trash receptacles and assist with waste disposal and recycling efforts.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout company facilities and grounds.
- Perform yard maintenance, including mowing, trimming, litter removal, and general grounds upkeep.
- Conduct floor care activities such as buffing and waxing when required.
- Assist with minor facility maintenance and repairs, including painting and janitorial work.
- Install temporary wind fences as required.
- Direct traffic on company property when necessary.
Equipment, Fleet & Container Responsibilities
- Fuel, clean, and maintain company vehicles and equipment.
- Perform routine washing, detailing, and cleaning of company trucks and fleet vehicles to maintain a professional appearance and support preventative maintenance efforts.
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain waste and recycling containers, carts, and related equipment to ensure cleanliness, appearance, and proper functionality.
- Operate site vehicles and equipment including pickup trucks, water trucks, sweepers, mowers, and other assigned equipment.
- Ensure all equipment is used safely and maintained in good working condition.
- Safely load and unload incoming deliveries.
Inventory & Supplies
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and facility-related materials.
- Ensure supplies are properly stocked, organized, and stored.
Operational Support
- Assist route operations with spills, cleanups, and other support activities as needed.
- Assist with special projects and other job-related duties as assigned.
Safety & Reporting
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Report maintenance concerns, equipment issues, or safety hazards promptly to management.
- Maintain a safe and professional work environment at all times.
Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks (pushing, pulling, bending) throughout the shift , and carry heavy objects for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety procedures
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to various tasks as needed
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow directions clearly
- Prior experience in general labor or construction is a plus but not required
- Physical stamina and endurance to perform demanding manual work consistently
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Pay: $18.50 - $21.00 per hour
