Superior Skilled Trades is seeking Heavy Equipment Operators for a project in Birmingham, Alabama.
- PAY: $25-$30/hr (based upon experience)
- HOURS: Expected shifts will be 10.5-hour days starting at 6:30 AM and ending at 5:00 PM
- SCHEDULE: Approximately 40 hours/week
- START DATE: 08/20/2026
- DURATION: 1 month
Heavy Equipment Operator Job Description:
Operate a mini excavator, skid steer, and ride-on trencher on an outdoor airport construction project. Primary duties include augering and excavating holes for airfield base light cans and junction cans, excavating sign pad foundations, trenching for direct earth-buried conduits, backfilling excavations, grading disturbed areas, and assisting with material handling and site logistics.
Qualifications for Heavy Equipment Operator:
- 3–5 years of heavy equipment operating experience.
- Proficient in operating a mini excavator, skid steer, and ride-on trencher.
- Experience with excavation, trenching, backfilling, and grading.
- Ability to assist with material handling and site logistics.
- Must be able to perform job duties requiring bending, standing, climbing, kneeling, and twisting.
- Position requires the use of PPE including: steel-toe work boots, gloves, tape measure, carpenter's level, steel finishing trowel, and edging tool.
Additional Requirements for Heavy Equipment Operator:
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Must have reliable transportation to the job site.
- Pre-employment drug screen is required for this position.
