Summary of Position Responsibilities:
Provide support to medical and clinical team to provide a consistently high level of medical care within a detox residential treatment program. Work closely with medical staff, clinical staff, and Addiction Technicians in providing patient care. Provide direct medical care to patients. Perform nursing duties and act as medical resource and support to Addiction Technicians as needed.

Essential Duties:
● Assists with medication management, patient medication education, and administration according to physician orders and in accordance with facility policy
● Assist with patients’ prescription medication refill and administration
● Document and maintain accurate and current patient records in EMR software system
● Complete intake assessments and other required documentation upon admission
● Oversee work and responsibilities of Addiction Technicians, resource for Addiction Techs in performance of job duties related to patient care
● Monitor and observe patients upon admission, managing any medical challenges within licensure scope, contacting physician when appropriate for best patient care.
● Dispose of biohazard waste according to OSHA standards
● Practice OSHA safety standards and universal precautions
● Monitor/observe Urinalysis or Breathalyzer tests as needed and document appropriately
● Monitor and document client vital signs, physical condition, and behaviors as part of the program structure
● Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings and supervision
● Abide by all legal and ethical standards

● Ability to apply the concepts of customer service in the workplace. Ability to use good professional judgment. Detail oriented. Ability to work independently, with minimal direct supervision.
● Stay current with general knowledge pertaining the addiction treatment.
● Serves as an advocate for all patients in receiving services within the organization and outside the organization, by supporting the rights of patients and communicating information, to all involved parties, in a manner that reduces the stigma of addictions treatment and mental illness and increases awareness.
● Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by the Executive Leadership Team.
● Willingness to participate in requirements as outlined by Joint Commission.
Qualifications:
● Certification/Licensure: Licensed Practical Nurse, LVN
● Experience: in substance use disorder, psychiatric/mental health treatment facility preferred not required but preferred
● Supervisory experience: NA
● Technology experience: Experience using EMR software, strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
Pay: $30.00 per hour
