Job Summary
The Quality Inspector I performs visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of die cast components to ensure products meet customer, company, and industry quality standards. This position follows established inspection procedures and works under close supervision.
Responsibilities
- Perform visual inspections of die cast parts for defects such as porosity, flash, cracks, blisters, cold shuts, and other surface imperfections.
- Conduct dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and go/no-go gauges.
- Verify products meet blueprints, specifications, control plans, and work instructions.
- Complete inspection records, quality documentation, and production reports accurately.
- Identify and segregate nonconforming materials.
- Assist with first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
- Maintain inspection equipment and keep the work area clean and organized.
- Document quality concerns and support corrective action activities.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 0–2 years of manufacturing or quality inspection experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and quality concepts.
- Ability to read basic blueprints and inspection instructions.
- Basic math skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently after training.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to visually inspect both small and large components.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse and manufacturing environment with varying temperatures.
