Duties
- Greet guests promptly with enthusiasm and genuine hospitality, making them feel at home from the first hello
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to optimize table turnover and guest flow
- Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing information about wait times, reservations, and restaurant offerings
- Maintain a clean, organized host stand and waiting area to ensure a welcoming environment
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to communicate guest needs and seating availability effectively
- Assist with guest inquiries, special requests, and feedback to enhance overall guest relations
- Uphold food safety standards and restaurant policies to ensure a safe and enjoyable dining environment
Requirements
- Prior experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a positive attitude are essential
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle guest interactions professionally and courteously
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus; training will be provided if needed
- Organizational skills to manage reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements efficiently
- Knowledge of food safety practices and restaurant operations is advantageous
- Previous hotel or hospitality experience is beneficial but not mandatory; a passion for guest relations is key
